The Santa Fe County League (lwvsfc.org) held a panel discussion on the 2010 Census and Redistricting April 7th. Panelists were Michael Sharp from Research & Polling, Amy Suma, chair of the Santa Fe County Census Committee, and Cheryl Haaker representing the Fair Representation Study Group.

Brian Sanderoff, President of Research & Polling, gave a presentation on the 2010 Census and its impact on Redistricting to the League of Women Voters of Central New Mexico at the December 2010 General Meeting. The powerpoint presentation can be viewed here (Powerpoint, 2.3MB)
Mr. Brian Sanderoff has provided technical and professional services to redistrict New Mexico's state house, senate, and US Congressional districts in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and will be involved in the most recent efforts. This makes him probably the most knowledgeable and experienced person in the whole state. The Fair Representation Study Group has asked Mr. Sanderoff to speak on the 2010 Census, its importance to the redistricting process, and what the League can do to help.

Research & Polling, Inc. is New Mexico's largest survey research company. Based in Albuquerque, Research & Polling specializes in market research, public opinion polling and demographic analysis. For the last 23 years, Research & Polling, Inc. has conducted all of the public opinion and election polls for the Albuquerque Journal. Brian Sanderoff is the on-air election analyst for KOAT TV Channel 7 and has made appearances on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, BBC and the Jim Lehrer News Hour.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Sanderoff has served as an advisor to many of New Mexico's leaders in both the private and public sectors. In the state governmental arena, Mr. Sanderoff has been actively involved with all three branches of government.
Brian Sanderoff attended the University of New Mexico and received his BA degree in Political Science. He also attended graduate school in the Political Science Department at UNM.
