The League of Women Voters of New Mexico will celebrate League Day at the Legislature on February 5th and 6th. At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, LWVNM will host a legislative reception at the Rio Chama Steakhouse next to the Capitol Building. Executive Director of the U.S. League of Women Voters, Virginia Case will speak.
On Thursday, Feb. 6th, LWVNM will take over the capitol rotunda for a series of displays with our partner organizations. Special Memorials commemorating the founding 100 years ago of the League of Women Voters of the United States will be introduced in both the state House of Representatives and the state Senate.
At 12:30 p.m. a special program to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the league and the passage of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote will begin.
Cake and lemonade will be served.
