LWVCNM President Starlyn Brown issued a press release “SAVE Act Likely to Cause New Mexicans Problems at the Polls.” See the press release here.

Passed and Signed – Semi Open Primaries Senate Bill 16. There are a growing number of New Mexico voters with no major party affiliation. SB16 allows these registered voters to vote in a primary election without changing to a major party. They will simply ask for a major party ballot and then vote. New Mexico joins over 30 other states that have various forms of open primaries.
