The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.


The goal of the League of Women Voters of the United States is to empower citizens to shape better communities worldwide.

Other organizations we work with

APD Forward

The League of Women Voters of Central New Mexico is a coalition member of APD Forward
which strives to restore trust in the Albuquerque Police Department. The City of Albuquerque,
the police department, and the Department of Justice have entered into a court ordered
settlement agreement intended to focus on bringing full accountability to APD. LWVCNM is
part of the ongoing program to promote community involvement and to make the process
open and transparent.
